1500cals is a service to help you eat healthily, lose weight if you need to and keep fit. We help you make a meal plan, track snacks and exercise, and most importantly stick to the routine.
When you create an account, you'll see a list of meal plans. Choose one to get started. You can change meals any time you like, add your own recipes or store bought meals.
A meal plan is a set of meals or recipes for one week, Monday to Sunday. For now we've provied our Kickstarter Meal Plan, but we'll be adding to this soon!
Your Diary is your daily plan. It's also the entire history of what you ate, including meals you planned, and snacks you added. Once you've selected a Meal Plan, we'll add that to the first week of your Diary to get you started.
A Meal can be a full recipe, just a name of a dish you know how to make, or something bought from a restaurant or shop. You can choose any of the 1500cals recipes, or add your own.
Just vist the Foods page and click the "Add Food" button to add your own meals, recpies and snacks.
We all need to snack. In 1500cals anything like a protein bar, a coffee, some cereals or yoghurt might be snacks.

Don't worry! You can change/add/remove meals from any day in the Diary by clicking "Edit" on the day in question and +/- Meals or Snacks.
Statistics will show you a monthly view of calories from everything you've eaten by day. If you're tracking exercise then each day will show the offset of calories you burned.
1500 calories is the default target but you can change this by editing your profile to anything from 1000 to 2800 calories per day.
Workouts are either walks or runs you complete at any time. You can track the distance and energy burned. If you have an iPhone and/or Apple Watch we can sync all this automatically with Apple Health.
1500cals can connect with Apple Health data and automatically track exercise, steps to offset against calories you consume. Read more on how to set it up on the Devices page.
In 1500cals, Food can be recipes you cook at home, meals you eat out somewhere, or snacks like coffee, tea, a protein bar etc.
